When purchased, the cupboard had been over painted in layers of paint over the years. We sent the cupboard to our restorer who dry scraped through multiple layers until they got to this soft cream

The cupboard was used in a school on the Suffolk/Norfolk border. Layers of paint and a mahogany scumble finish were dry scraped back to it’s original powder green paint
Through the areas of wear, you can see the heavy areas of touch. A true survivor in a throw away society!

Originally this sideboard would have been painted either a blue or green before being overpainted numerous times. It has now been dry scraped to it’s original paints which have left a rustic finish
The plinth is a later addition. Most commonly, the original would have suffered from rot due to the floor regularly being mopped
