Pine housekeepers cupboard
French and dating from c.1850
A centralised upper shelves cupboard above an unusual set of drawers. A deep storage area accessed via the pair of doors with an exterior of panelled inserts. Then there are a pair of small drawers and to finish, a large full width drawer to add even more storage
This cupboard would most definitely have been historically painted. Evident with the variety of pine used in its build and likely stripped when bare timber became more common in the 80s
Dinks, chips and bangs. With it’s French ancestry, it has had historic woodworm, primarily to the ‘roof’ panels and signs of repaired old rot due to being in a damper environment, commonly the working room of the residence
